The holiday season is all about gathering with friends, co-workers, neighbors, and relatives. It often means that our homes fill up with out of town guests. We hope you’ve finished all of your Christmas shopping so you can focus on decorating the tables in your home with holiday centerpieces.
Although people typically think of centerpieces as focal points for dining room tables or tables in other eating areas, we believe that there are many other fun ways to use centerpieces, including on fireplace mantles or on wide windowsills. If you haven’t finished sprucing up your home with floral arrangements, don’t panic. We put together a collection of our favorite holiday centerpieces in the hope of inspiring you to incorporate one or more centerpieces into the overall holiday decorating scheme in your home.
One of our favorite holiday centerpieces is the super sophisticated Holiday Elegance Centerpiece. The combination of green, white, and gold makes this centerpiece the perfect choice for a decorating scheme that uses those colors. It’s also simple enough to work with just about any decorating style. We choose white calla lilies, white roses, and white Gerbera daisies to stand out against the Christmas pine boughs and evergreen branches. We add shiny gold ball ornaments and finish the arrangement with a gorgeous sheer gold bow.
One of our most unusual arrangements, our Glorious Winter Centerpiece, incorporates tropical orchids into a centerpiece that’s rustic and elegant at the same time. We used Cymbidium and Dendrobium orchids, snow capped pine cones, branches of red berries and holiday greenery. The rustic element comes from a burlap ribbon and a rope bow.
When you want to add drama to a fireplace mantle, a coffee table, a wide window ledge, or even a bedroom dresser, look no further than our Celebrate the Season centerpiece. A red cut glass hurricane lamp with a tall pillar candle in the center is the focal point of this arrangement. We chose velvety red roses, burgundy-colored mini carnations, and snowy white chrysanthemums, all of which offer a striking contrast to the sprigs of variegated holly and branches of Christmas greenery. A red and white ribbon brings the entire centerpiece together.
