Springtime Flowers are Here

While the changing of the seasons is not as dramatic here as it is in other places in the country, we can still celebrate the advent of spring. In fact, while northern states are just emerging from seasons of snow, we have some indications of spring that are uniquely Tucson. For instance, the wildflowers begin to bloom and reveal bursts of color, emerging along roadsides and in gardens. Trees and bushes join the display, adding their budding branches to the vista.  Bright colors appear across the landscape, and the bouquets of the season follow suit, exhibiting the fresh attitude of a new season. This month, we celebrate all of the flowers of spring – and whether you have a special occasion coming up, or you want to send an arrangement “just because”, Casas Adobes Flower Shop is the right place to call.

What are some of the classic flowers of springtime?

Gerbera daisies are known for their cheerful countenance and carefree vibe. They are the perfect representation of the laid-back attitude of spring. Bulb flowers such as daffodils and tulips are also considered to be two of the most popular of the season. Spray roses, mums, lilies, snapdragons, Bells of Ireland, iris and hydrangea all explode with the vibrant colors of springtime.

Wildflower bouquets are a classic arrangement for this time of year, reminiscent of meadows overgrown with blossoms. Freesia, zinnia, dahlias, hyacinth and peonies add luxurious color and texture. Organic elements such as twigs, grasses, and curly willow provide a touch of nature to a floral design, evoking the feeling of al fresco beauty.
